      Associate Software Developer Interview

      Apr 17, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Uline

      Interview

The entire process was honestly embarrassing. Before your first phone interview with someone from HR, you will have to complete three or four assessments. The first will ask you ~15 questions about yourself and your personality but then is immediately followed by a 50+ question assessment to judge your proficiency as a salesperson. This was a massive red flag for me so I looked more into the company on Glassdoor and I urge you to do the same. The phone interview went well and HR was very kind and welcoming, but she mentioned another round of assessments that I'd have to do before the in person interview. I was told "don't worry too much about the assessments, it doesn't really matter if you pass, it's just that everyone has to take them". If it doesn't matter if I pass or fail, then why are we wasting our time with it? After I saw the second round of assessments were meant to assess proficiency with the Microsoft Suite, I declined to move forward. Overall, it took me longer to complete the irrelevant salesmanship assessment than the phone interview. Personally, the ratio of personality questions to irrelevant assessments seems very disrespectful. Please take a look at what others are saying about this company and make your own judgement call about if this is the best opportunity for you to further your career

      Interview

Interview consisted of random tests to complete before the interview not related to the IT role. It seemed like a waste of time just to have an interviewer ask me about my visa status when it is obviously included in the application. It seemed rude to ask and the the lady was questioning everything about my resume unsure of why she even called me in.
