I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Jul 2011
Interview
The position was for a C/C# programmer. The interview consists of 2 rounds - a phone interview and an on-site interview(which was sponsored by Wal-mart). The phone interview was more technical and consisted of some basic technical questions. Just a basic understanding of the C language will do. Questions were very basic (which is the one function that has to appear in every program). They only need a beginner. The on-site interview consisted of the benefits preview followed by two-rounds of interview. The first one being behavioral (technical related - Describe a situation where you handled a major problem) and the second being another technical (similar to the phone interview - covered some more topics like DB - what is inner join? ) followed by a few HR related questions (What do you like about Wal-mart ?). This was followed by an informal community tour for an hour and a half. On the entirety, the interview was not difficult to crack and requires only a basic knowledge of the language.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart (Atlanta, GA)
Interview
Walmart paid for my Greyhound bus ticket that took me from Melbourne, FL to Atlanta, GA to be interviewed. Had 4 back-to-back interviews. Watched as others with me had 2 and then were dropped. At the end of the 4th interview, I was offered a position with starting pay. There was not much room for negotiation, but I was able to ask for a slightly higher pay than they initially offered and then accepted it.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Bentonville, AR) in Mar 2017
Interview
I was given an initial online skills assessment. The next step was an online one on one technical interview. Then a few weeks later I was sent an offer via email.

I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Walmart in Nov 2016
Interview
Met at on campus career expo and spoke with the rep about openings. Heard back several weeks later via e-mail. Took an online programming quiz on hackerrank (straightforward javascript but there were a few exotic questions). Some time later, scheduled a webex interview where I was asked to read and explain/troubleshoot some code and then write code to solve interviewer prompts.
