The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Walmart (Suffolk, VA) in Aug 2011
Interview
Well I started out as an intern, so I'm not quite sure how the interview process goes for individuals coming in externally or internally, because my experience is much different from those. However, my initial interview to become an intern consisted of 2 managers, store manager and human resource manager. I comlpleted the intern after two months and was given the opportunity to interview for the trainee program based on performance with the intern. The interview for the position was a grou panel inteview, and they contacted me within 3 days that I had been selected. Training lasts for a month and then I became an assistant manager.

Question 1
Name a time when you had to take your judgement into consideration, without the help from you superiors. What was the situation? What actions did you take? What was the outcome/results?
I applied through college or university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Walmart in Oct 2011
Interview
One on one interview with HR. Interview lasted about an hour and consisted mostly of standard behavioral questions. Not very difficult to answer with past work experiences. Said to get in touch within a few months before graduating if it seemed like something I wanted to pursue but I decided to pursue other options. Overall simple and basic interview, just be able to have examples ready to go.

Question 1
Name a time when you had to deal with a difficult customer and how did you do it?
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Walmart (Lafayette, LA) in Mar 2012
Interview
Completed online application which included a lenghty online assessment process. Eventually, after approximately a month after applying, I received a call from the local store manager who asked if I could interview today (that afternoon) as she had several other interviews to complete that day. I asked for later date and she seemed persistent to have the interview that day. I reluctantly agreed and she said, "it would be a phone interview." The interview was scheduled for 3:00 pm but I did not receive a call until 3: 35 pm. I was interviewed by this store manager along with another store manager and was told on the frontend to expect silence for several moment as they would be documenting. Was asked the usual management questions-tell me about a time when you had to deal with an irate customer, tell me about a major achievement, ect. The interview process appeared rushed and I felt as though they just needed to get other interviews completed in order to justify to their superiors that they had completed the entire company interview process according to the company's protocal. After being interview, I asked how soon would I would receive a notice and was told within 2 week. That never happened. Appear as though these Wal*Mart management staff members are covering their butts and felt somewhat threathened.
