Interview
Phone Interview, started with a basic explanation of the role and the store, then was asked several questions. Interviewer may ask specific questions based on other roles I be doing in the store. For ex, what makes you want to be a cashier? Etc. Be prepared to talk about things like work history, situational experiences regarding difficult customers, strengths and weaknesses, as well as 'why should be hire you.' Whole interview lasted about 45 minutes and was probably the most challenging I've had for a retail role. Was offered a second round interview but declined.

Interview
I recently interviewed via phone for a part-time position at Wegmans and unfortunately had a very negative experience. The recruiter I spoke with was cold and unfriendly from the start. There was no effort to make the conversation feel human or welcoming, which made the whole interview feel uncomfortable and off-putting.
The questions themselves were mostly straightforward behavioral questions like "Tell me about a time you worked with another team" and "What would you do if someone did something differently than you?" One question stood out as more complex — "How do you ensure your words and actions are inclusive?" — and while I answered honestly, it was clear from the recruiter's tone that I didn’t give the response she was looking for. However, no guidance or follow-up was offered, just a chilly pivot to the next question.
Overall, the experience felt less like a conversation and more like an interrogation. I left the call confused and disheartened. It felt as if the recruiter had already decided I wasn’t the right fit before we even started talking.
I’m sharing this not to discourage people from applying, but to set expectations. I hope others have a more supportive and respectful experience, but mine left a lot to be desired.

Conversational interview. It was a nice conversation and I liked the interview. Seems like a nice place to work. Offer complete training so I should be able to learn everything I need to know in order to do a great job.
