I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets (Erie, PA) in Jul 2013
Interview
The Wegmans interview process is usually a long one. Typically, it is three different interviews; the first one being a phone interview, the second is an interview with an HR representative, and the third is an interview with the department manager that you will be working for.
It can take up to two months to finally complete the process, which is pretty long time-period for a part-time job. If you are looking to get into the retail business or just something for some extra cash, this is a good company to try with.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
There really is no difficult question that I was asked. They usually ask you pretty standard questions; for example, you previous work experiences, why are you interested in the company, customer situations and what did you do in those situations, also why do you think you would be a good fit into the company.
Also, do not be taken by surprise about your work experiences with them, no matter how many of them you have in the past....let them know. They will actually do a check on all of your past work experiences, and if they find any that you failed to mention in the interview process, they will not hire you.
I really wish that Wegmans would not do that since my past work experiences are really my business alone. All of the work experiences that I tell them about are the ones that I believe to be the most relevant and the ones that I want them to look at, not a complete overview as if it as any merit for a retail job.

Interview
I applied online and was give a call by a lovely HR lady in couple of days to schedule phone interview. That went very well. You just need to be open, cheerful, don't pause for too long and elaborate on your answers. Few days later I was called for in person interview. Two HRs I spoketo were amazingly pleasant people. Simple open ended questions "how you dealt with difficult customers", "how would yo ex-manager describe you", "tell me about time you had conflicts with coworkers". Smile, be outgoing, make couple of jokes, thank them for giving you a chance. Just be overall NICE and CONFIDENT. Make a point how you always wanted to be in pharmacy business and stress it (this is very true for me). Make sure to ask THEM questions, I think if you don't have any, it shows your lack of interest. I WANT to wok there very very much, so I had tons. 3 days later I got a call - I am hired.
I want to note that I have no college education, certification or pharmacy work experience.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Wegmans Food Markets in Oct 2014
Interview
Met with the Store Manager, Assistant Manager and HR Manager; took about an hour. Started with the physical and schedule requirements then moved on to the situational questions. Examples: What do you find most frustrating about managing people? Describe a situation where you used your strengths to make a change. Describe a time that you made an exception for a guest and then it became a rule. Describe a time that you had to think on your feet with out the proper resources to deal with a situation.
