I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (New York, NY) in Jun 2020
Interview
Applied online and had interviews with HR and hiring manager. The HR / talent team were a joke – they were slow to respond and kept moving dates/times and even forgot to attend a scheduled interview. The team was also not clear on the role and responsibilities, which were enumerated when speaking to hiring manager.

Hello, my name is Annie Rihn and I am the VP of Recruiting here at Zillow. Thank you for your feedback and I apologize for your experience while interviewing with us. Like many companies, back in June Zillow was going through tremendous change as we adapted to our new normal of video conference interviews. Since then, we have worked hard to perfect the new virtual interview experience and continue to look for ways to improve. If you have any feedback on how we can improve you can contact me directly at annie@zillowgroup.com. -Annie Rihn, VP of Recruiting
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in May 2017
Interview
Two phone interviews and one coding exercise and then went onsite. The interview was pretty average. Stats, machine learning and modeling were more important than coding. Basic database knowledge was needed too.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
basic algorithm question from textbook. I guess they just wanted to make sure I could do coding.

I applied online and got into the interview process. They sent me a machine learning project on predicting the housing prices with one week time period for completing the project. After that, I was invited for a phone interview that included behavioral questions and questions about the machine learning project that I did for them.
