I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Zillow (Seattle, WA) in Dec 2019
Interview
The recruiter contacted me on LinkedIn with the position. The first round was a call with the hiring manager where he asked me basic questions about my experience if I fit into the position. Actual interviews began with an online coding session. I then was invited onsite for a full day of interviews. In the onsite, I had one coding interview, a behavioral interview, lunch, application knowledge interview, design interview and one last interview - a mix of coding and design.
Overall it was a positive experience, except for two things -
1. The recruiter apparently went on a leave during the week leading up to my onsite interview so I was literally given no information regarding what is supposed to happen on my onsite until a few hours before I flew out.
2. The last interview which was a mix of coding and design was originally scheduled to happen earlier during the day, but the schedule was randomly switched out. Shifting interviews around isn't a big deal, but after speaking for almost 6 hours straight, there was barely any juice left in me to keep my brain sharp.
Thank you so much for taking the time to share feedback around your interview experience. I sincerely apologize for the lack of communication you received regarding your onsite interview. Providing a positive and seamless candidate experience is our top priority and we missed the mark here. I'll be sure to share this feedback with the team so we can continue to improve. Feel free to contact me directly if you'd like to chat further. - Annie Rihn, annie@zillowgroup.com
