I was asked to reflect on how I connect the themes/concepts of migration and development. This was the title of the course they were recruiting for.
Although the role was advertised as a teaching and research position, none of the questions I was asked related to teaching philosophy, research plans, or past academic experience. Instead, most questions focused on identifying potential weaknesses rather than exploring strengths, expertise, or fit for the role.
When can you start, we'd like someone as soon as possible?
They asked about my previous experience in leadership, curriculum design, and a little bit about pedagogy. Many of the questions were about how I keep up to date with the field and how I solved difficult problems.
