Most questions relate to either common sense things or relate to the job being so heavily focused on customer service. "What would you do if another student asks you for help with a program you're not entirely familiar with?"
Some questions were. Why do you want the job? How can you help those around you and what skills do you have across said disciplines of math, computer science, and writing papers. Behavioral questions about integrity, organization, and accountability.
Questions: Many questions about my unemployment between jobs… these periods were like 3 months and 9 months during a bad economy. These questions had nothing to do with the job and were inappropriate given the bad economy and glut of computer programmers at the time (mid 1980's if I remember correctly). These were trivial questions by obviously inexperienced interviewers who were "managers" but knew absolutely nothing about computer programming and were unable to evaluate me.
