I appreciated the "assessment" project (with clear parameters) that they gave me. When it is done properly, I think this kind of thing is good both for the employer (so they can get a sense of what the candidate can do) and for the candidate (so they can get a sense of what some of the work will be like).

Most of the questions were about details of projects I worked on in my past experience, most of them were also designed to see the experience and expertise.
Questions focused on my work, communication, problem-solving, and feedback styles, and then also discussing from a list of options what motivates me most.
