One thing they asked me about was their goal to invest in growing the team. Right now, they have one AR specialist who is currently in school and developing her skills. My manager mentioned that she’d love for me to help mentor her so she can grow into an accountant in the near future and eventually support me — which would also allow me to take on larger responsibilities and take more off my manager’s plate. And I really loved that. It showed me my manager’s genuine intention to invest in her team — not just in the work we do, but in each of us as professionals and people.
