Construction takes its toll on Obrascón Huarte Lain (OHL), but that's the way the company likes it. One of Spain's largest civil engineering and construction groups, OHL operates through six divisions that specialize in infrastructure projects in the Americas and Europe. It also frequently undertakes work on airports, marine ports, railways, oil and gas pipelines, and water treatment plants. Environmental services include desalination of seawater and purification of urban sewage. In 2010 OHL spun off part of its OHL Concesiones Mexico unit, which operates more than 20 toll roads, in order to raise capital to fund road-building projects in Mexico and make other acquisitions.
