Construction company trying to be a professional services company
Pros
Very well established engineering and construction firm with global operations and mature human capital development programs. If I was a civil engineer, this would have been a great place to stay and grow.
Cons
It's construction and engineering oriented culture does not align great with classified professional services work. For instance, the company did not provide coverage for all Federal Holidays even for salaried staff who were 100% client facing. You were expected to burn three days of your limited PTO to cover those uncovered holidays, reducing your PTO to essentially 13 days a year, which included sick time. Also, the PMs did not come from the classified professional services arena. My PMs were not cleared to visit me at the client site and see what I was actually doing.
