Pros

It used to be a good company when it was Maunsell and there are some good people. Most of the good ones have left.

Cons

A multitude of flaws. It's bizarro world at AECOM. Bad people with personality disorders are promoted to group leader roles and inflict their insanity on everyone they can. Their mission is to make your life as chaotic and stressful as possible. They expect you to be as manic and frantic as themsleves, work unpaid overtime (including weekends), take your laptop home every night, respond to phone calls and emails in your own personal time and accuse you of not being a team player if you don't. The "grande fromages" take credit for your work to promote themselves. Layoffs can occur at any time for unsuspecting employees, thereby creating a culture of insecurity. The biggest problem at this prison is that they hired heaps of people of few years ago as part of their world domination plan but can't find enough work and then they turn around and blame the employees for having low billability. i can't see any positive future for this company, especially with a downturn in engineering in Australia, and expect many more layoffs. Beware, and if you're thinking of giving up your job to come to Australia then don't. Read the reviews on Glassdoor.

Pros

Some nice people and interesting projects from when the other companies existed.

Cons

- Heavily bureaucratic - Glass Ceiling - Cost cutting at every corner so you have to do everything - Perpetual state of emergency on projects since they only get the clients that no one wants - 100 billibility mandate is meant to keep you in your place. - Global company operated as a local one. People and office consistently bicker and fight. No cohesion whatsoever. DO NOT THINK THAT YOU WILL HAVE GLOBAL OPPORTUNITIES. ITS A COMPLETE LIE.

Pros

Some interesting projects (run by pocket filling clowns). Some good people, unfortunately they generally don't last long!

Cons

Billable hours (the "U" word - utilisation) must be 87% billable, inefficiency due to zero training is punishable by death. Communication and internal politics are also a real issue (old legacy companies fight it out for control instead of benefiting from obvious synergies). Training is non existent and you have to threaten to leave prior to any raise above 1.5%, it makes you sick!
