Pros

I have experienced challenging engagements and. opportunities to propose and execute innovative solutions to complex projects. I am trusted to manage my time appropriately.

Cons

The handling of COBRA benefits for my ex-spouse has been very disappointing. Why in the world would AECOM or ADP send the COBRA election information to the employee instead of directly to the person who needs to elect COBRA coverage? What would happen if this was a contentious situation and I decided not to pass it on? Some team in the Benefits department in Houston did not notify ADP of a change of address resulting in a 1-1/2 month delay in receipt of the initial forms when there is a 2 month limit for electing COBRA coverage. ADP outsources its 800 calls to India. The people answering the phone read from a script and try to dismiss the caller if the request is outside of the script. It is up to the caller to persist and request to be transferred. ADP appears not to communicate some key information among its various departments because contradictory letters have been generated. A recent conversation with ADP confirmed that ADP is struggling to decide which plans are available.

Pros

* Competitive salary ... "underworked and overpaid" actually applies here * Good work/life balance * No shortage of work if you are good at what you do ... company always getting new projects * Very professional atmosphere. Everyone treats everyone else with respect. * Encourages (and pays for) professional growth (classes, PE, etc). All of the continuing education is on your own time, though.

Cons

* Tend to work isolated. It's tough to learn from peers when your peers are committed to other things * Management is strong in engineering, but not strong in management. This should change. * Administrative processes are manual and archaic (timesheets, 401K allocations, I-9 forms, expense reports). It's time to computerize! * Performance is judged on how well you complete your given assignments, not on the quality of the work you do.

Pros

Fortune 500 company. Impressive senior technical staff with high levels of appreciation for marketing. Overall professional, friendly cutlure and atmosphere in Transportation, ERA and PDD groups. With a group so large, if one is actively meeting others, it is possible to move up and to grow. The marketing group, unfortunately, seems to have no growth, no career path and directors barely keeping themselves afloat, so no care is given to the staff working.

Cons

Water group has encountered lots of change and has lost some leadership and vigor. PDD has also undergone much change loosing many talented individuals. Too many companies purchased and no full cutlure has assimilated. With the merging of all groups in one location, potential for a truly dynamic group culture, if fostered or it will result in silos. HR has proven to be meaningless, they have no authority or care, seem to just play lip service.
