Pros

There is challenging work but management is so bad that it is hard to get the work done.

Cons

Normal work week is 60 - 70 hours a week and then you will be rated at best a 5 in their 9 box. No work life balance. Management are experts at saying one thing and doing the opposite. CIO creates chaos as a normal means of making people work very extended hours and then asks how they could let this happen and he does not want people working extended hours. Strongly suggest that job seekers look elsewhere. You will work 60 - 70 hours a week and when raise and bonus time comes around you will be a marginal performer and get little to no raise. Management cannot set priorities.

Pros

you sometime get the chance to work on some high profile projects

Cons

AECOM is without a doubt the worst company a graduate can be stuck in. Salary is a joke and training/ career progression are non existent. The salary review performed by an individual's line manager counts for nothing as senior management then change it to its liking in a way to never give any of the graduates a raise. This is also the case for employees at different levels of the company and since i have joined over half of my team has already left the company.. The only thing that the company is interested in is your utilization and not what you are actually doing. Graduates get 6 days of training in two years which means that you are expected to somehow learn everything on your own. The system in place to claim expenses back is ridiculous and built in a way to delay payment as much as possible so the company can hold on to your money while at the same time paying a ridiculous salary. I am also 100% sure that the company has paid someone to provide good reviews on glassdoor to make the company look better as the ratings jumped up while everyone i have spoken to has been increasingly frustrated with the company. Check any of the positive reviews and you can clearly see the small amount of detail in them and how similar they are

Pros

Really great colleagues (the reason many people stay for years), variety of project work, exposure to new opportunities, flexible schedule

Cons

Unreasonable expectations when it comes to sold-time and billable metrics (95% billable or required to take PTO/LWOP yet the company claims to promote employee training & development), 95% of culture is on financial gain while the company is hemorrhaging employees and losing all their top talent, Creating unattainable metrics to lose employees because of the poor financial decision they made to acquire URS, Lack of transparency from senior management, Staff scientists, engineers, planners, support, are the slave-driving force of the company but are treated as disposable, undervalued, financial chess pieces
