Pros

AECOM is a large, global company with its hand in a ton of projects. Some of these high profile projects are creating an increase in name recognition. The company is so large that there are a ton of internal resources. This allows for cross-team recommendations and problem solving, rather than having to go outside of the company for that expertise.

Cons

While "right-sizing" your organizations is often prudent, wholesale outsourcing of entire organizations will make for a bad time. AECOM says they are looking forward to the future and are also wanting to integrate more and more technology into their business. They have decided that outsourcing the entire IT department was a great first start. This move will do nothing to help the rest of the business, but will certainly help the bottom line.

Pros

relatively stable in terms of incoming revenue/jobs. however, even though it's a large company don't expect to get much cross discipline experience; the company divides jobs between disciplines severely. so if you are looking to develop skills in both science and engiineering fields you won't be able to. also each office works entirely differently so one office may not produce the same quality product as another and as a client you never know what you are going to get. offices also don't generally work well together.

Cons

very corporate; only interested in profit not interested in client satisfaction, employee growth, quality of product, or innovation at all. there is definitely a sexist bias in terms of promotions, opportunities, salary, and raises. women with the same title, experience, and skillset are frequently paid less and given less promotions than those around them at the staff levels.
