      Pros

      I work outsourced for American Express. Its good, because the job title makes you feel important.

      Cons

      We are outsourced and do not make a decent wage. If you make 2 minor mistakes on the phone they walk you out. There is no job security. They are ALWAYS hiring at my call center. Lots of fraternaziation. Rules don't apply to everyone at this job. No one gets benefits, because they usually try to let you go within a month or two. Everyday is a new stress.

      Benefits are fairly reasonable Some flexibility in working arrangements - but it varies from leader to leader Some opportunity for career growth, but you need to have friends in high places

      Rating and reviews of employees is inconsistent - favoritism is alive and well Promotions to higher level positions are often questionable Lack of direction and solid planning by this company for any strategic direction Security flaws abound Contractors are employed by the company for many years and take a great deal of experience and knowledge with them when they leave Age discrimination - keep dyeing your hair, don't look your age
