Pros

great benefits with start your first day of work. Lots of paid time on, which also starts your first day of work. New Moms get several months of maternity leave. The new dads get 4 months. They recognize same sex couples and extend same benefits as heterosexual couples. Great pay!

Cons

very, very, very strict. I worked there for 12 years. I eventually got transferred to a team where the Team Leader just hated me. No other way to put it. I mean she fired lots of people she did not like. Wrote us up for every single thing. It's hard to make the numbers, you know the house always wins. The survey' can get you fired. A card member can complete a survey and say she/he was great, excellent, but I don't like this new fee American Express is charging. The cardmember then rates the experience a 1 out of 1-10 , with 1 being the worst. It goes against the agent. The math works against you you could be at 100 percent in surveys and a 1 will take you down to 20's or 30's and if you get a 10 the next call it will only bring you up a few points literally.

Pros

Benefits package starts right away.

Cons

Seems that they like to stir things up with no real plan in place. My job was moved over to India where they were able to hire someone else at slave wages. I had 15 years of experience and was asked to train the very inexperienced replacement. Come to find out not only did they have to move my job back to the states, they did so by hiring 3 contracters to do so. Since they don't have to provide benefits for contractors this saves the company money. These kinds of reorgs (where they send jobs overseas or just get rid of them, then have to rehire) happen all the time.

Pros

Great pay, benefits, and plenty of PTO time

Cons

A lot of PTO, but you aren't able to take it. Health benefits are amazing, because you are going to need it due the mental stress and anguish they put you through. I was with the company for over 20 years. I was proud to work for them as they were employee and customer focused. Everyone lived by the Blue Box Values. Somewhere along the way, they threw out those values and forgot about their employees and their customers. Out with the old and in with the new who focused more on efficiency instead of value. Any excuse to write people up and didn't care if their direct leader didn't agree. Extreme micro-managing to the point of folks phone states being switched remotely when they would be in the middle of fixing a huge issue or they were stuck after their shift and logged out. Steve Squeri needs to take a long look at who he has in charge of this division because they are ruining it. Blue Box went out the window with Ken left.
