Pros

Decent pay for retail and can sit down at the registers.. If you end up in management you will be well paid and may not hate your job as much as retail assistants..

Cons

Managers will act like that care about you at first, but most really don't. I was told (illegally) that I could not continue working at Aldi because of a knee injury (even though I was still capable of working on the registers and other light duties). By law employers should provide alternative working arrangements where viable, however Aldi simply could not be bothered.. Needless to say I didn't bother to fight for this job anyway! You will be treated as a robot - it is all about TIME. The stores are permanently understaffed to cut costs so expect to be worked until you can't take it anymore. Most people I have met who work at Aldi do not enjoy it but stay for the money or to try and become managers, as they are paid better and get to delegate the crappy tasks to other people. You will get experience operating some machinery, however training in actually using it is minimal and mostly explained on an IPAD. After that you are expected to know what to do. You are required to get steel capped boots and a RSA certificate. I purchased both and Aldi never compensated me, even though they claimed they would. Overall would not consider ever coming back to work for Aldi and I highly suggest no one else bothers either. IT'S NOT WORTH IT.
