Pros

Excellent Work-life balance - Flexible Hours, Sufficient Leaves, Employee welfare programs Sufficient time for Self-development (You have to work out yourself) If you can get recognized as a valuable asset, then everything will fall in your favor. Lots of opportunities to work on Site, both in India and abroad

Cons

Lack of Challenges - Some teams in some projects might lack any challenging opportunity to learn or grow. Possibility of stagnancy - There are dead-end positions/roles, from which it might be difficult to come out of. There are cases of favoritism evidenced during the salary review process Performance is calculated based on some distant 'Management terminology' and not on Actual quality and efficiency of work.

It is all relative and subjective.

Pros

Depending on one's background, position, function, direct boss and department, opinions on Alstom are dispersed. This is especially true for any global organisation where company policies adapt to the local culture and regulations. Despite that, assessments for Alstom overall are often negative than positive. However, it may not be entirely fair to say the company is a total garbage and dismiss it at that. After all, there is a reason behind relatively stable revenue. There should be at least 5+ different criteria to assess companies. i.e. Job security, Career advancement, Work facilities, overall culture etc. and the criteria should be prioritized according to one's need. To list Pros, 1. The location of being in Switzerland, itself is a great advantage. Generally, if you are looking for a comfortable and easy life style, this company is for you. But remember, when employees are taking it easy while there is no clear direction from management, the company is not sustainable in a long term. 2. Generally flexible work hours. 3. Good culture of work-life balance in most dept.

Cons

Too many French bureaucracy. No entrepreneurship. Complacency culture. No development for employees.
