Pros

Technology applications for the energy industry - good work in an industry that is in demand.

Cons

French management have taken over what used to be a leader in the industry. Managing contracts is more important than employees or customers. Hostile relationships and arrogance may be the norm in Europe and 3rd world countries, but not in the United States. After years of service, departing employees should not expect to be thanked for their contributions, more likely to be issued a warning about how they will persecuted for working for a better company. Alstom uses bullying and fear tactics as a way to prevent employees from going to work somewhere else.

Pros

International company, management heavy, upper management is completely clueless about the market, project capture and project execution. Company likes to direct actions to capture projects from Europe with no clue of the current market conditions.

Cons

Once you are hired, raises are very scarce. Company not competitive to retain talent. Most good employees are eventually recruited away from the company by competitors who offer substantially more pay and benefits.
