Pros

I suppose there are always opportunities in case your job goes away.

Cons

You really feel like a number at this very large company. Has a very traditional management hierarchy, with the upper management getting considerable perks (rumors of valets to top off gas and wash cars in their reserved parking area). Meanwhile, further down the chain, employees are subject to extreme cost cutting measures (no free coffee/tea, pulling teeth to get office supplies). First couple tiers of management always seem to get crapped on so that the union workers get cheap medical benefits, and upper management doesn't have to compromise on their benefits.

Pros

The pay is 3Xtimes higher than similar firms. This is due to Communications Workers of America. Without unionization, I would be making 1/3 the pay and would not be able to support myself, let alone my family.

Cons

The pettiness of co-workers is the primary downside. Working in a call center is like being with a bunch of crabs in a bucket, nobody wants to let anyone else up.
