Pros

Most people L3 and below are really nice, good people who want to do the right thing. Used to love it here and so did many others

Cons

turning very toxic over the past couple of years, trust has eroded across all levels. The company wants younger, hipper workers but doesn’t realize that young hip people don’t want to work for a dinosaur telecom company based in dallas. Delusional. They are also forcing out older people who have blindly dedicated their life to the company. Really scary for people in their 50s who have a long time till retirement but have been bouncing around doing whatever is asked of them (including moving and uprooting their lives and families multiple times) only to be abandoned at a moments notice. Head of HR Angela Santone departed suddenly, not a surprise that the toxic really took off after that

They don't care.

Pros

Being able to assist customers and help them set up their new phones / data transfer.

Cons

All management cares about is metrics. Someone wants a phone upgrade but you don't get insurance or next up? Negative side by side. They don't want Direct TV or Internet? Missed a business opportunity? Pitched all the things they wanted you to but the customer says no anyway? All the same result. I like making money and helping out customers at the same time as much as the next person, but AT&T's micro management is horrendous. If a customer wants a phone upgrade that will more or less make the RSC no money, they are told that the phone is out of stock and to just go to Best Buy. Even in most quotes, management will force you to load it with the most expensive plan and all add ons, and just give the customer the jist of how much lower their bill will be, which isn't usually the case.

Pros

Some managers are great and treat employees as whole people and demonstrate care for employees, customers, and brand reputation. Great benefits.

Cons

Management is hit or miss. The high turnover rate for this position can be explained very simply, "people don't quit bad jobs, they quit bad bosses." Promotion is based solely on sales performance under many field leaders. Unfortunately, many high performing newer reps reach goals using unethical means, which they then expect their direct reports to use. Management gets shuffled so frequently sales reps who do not mislead customers can never get fully developed by "good" managers before they are pushed out of the job by a sleazeball who had no business being promoted.
