Pros

Good employee support with an understanding for personal needs and a good remuneration structure. The group as a whole was focussed on some key long term initiatives but their was often a disconnect between this and the Key Result Areas we were measured on.

Cons

Lack of non-financial recognition for consistent and excellent results. A strong silo culture within certain areas and others that lacked a commercial veiwpoint. Also the inability for management to explain the disconnect listed above. A talent pool with pro-active conversations to dicuss and position opportunities through the group would be beneficial to retaining and exposing employees to the greater group.

Pros

AXA R still retains a lot of its "small company" culture, which makes it a pretty unique place to work for the Financial Services sector. You can still meet and know everyone in the office, you are not just another number or headcount and you have a real responsibility towards the success of the firm. This is also reflected in AXAR's bonus structure - it is based on a portion of the company's profit and everyone has an equivalent opportunity to participate.

Cons

The downside of such a small company is the extraordinary gossipy and political nature of the office environment. Sometimes AXAR gets a little too political for its own good, and that does not reflect well on senior management or veteran employees of the firm.

Pros

Make your own hours, the amount of time you put in is basically the amount of salary your get out. Friendly work environment, people in the office will go out of there way to help you. Most of the time you are on the phone dealing with clients. Office space is nice and easy to get to, with very little congestion near the office building. Near major highways and the supplies in the office are plentiful.

Cons

Hard work, very little compensation in the begining of the career. A lot of downtime when things are slow. A lot of regulation in the industry. That is the same for whatever finacial corp. that you work for.
