Pros
On a one to one basis, most people that you’ll run into are fairly nice on the surface of it. Benefits package is good. Can work from home in most instances.
Cons
Took forever to get kit to do the job, and IT support is dreadful. Induction is non-existent. Doesn’t seem to be a great deal of internal mobility or progression for the majority of people. In many areas pay is well below market rate, leading to attrition and issues attracting talent. Endless red tape and bureaucracy. Everyone (in my department at least) seems to spend most their time in meetings pointlessly speculating and navel-gazing. No real direction from management and subjected to constant flip flopping. Everything I was asked to do felt like it was just dumped on me because no one else could be bothered.
