Pros

if you're young and single, it's a fun place to work-for a while. You often get to travel and see new cities and businesses. 5 weeks of PTO.

Cons

the review/ranking process doesn't make any sense. People are punished for not having been on the project for as long as others, therefore not making as big of an impact (even if their work for the time they were there was wonderful). I saw one of my friends get ZERO compensation because he came onto a project about three weeks before reviews came out. He got ranked lowest b/c he hadn't been there long. If he had instead stayed "on the bench" (without a project and basically doing nothing at the home office), he would have received a salary bump of about 3-4%. Stupid.

Pros

Friendly environment, good compensation packeg, work and family life balance approach. Able to grow in career and good career guidance.

Cons

Might have to moved to client location. Some time you may be deployed for short term projects but Ok for person willing to travel 100%.

Pros

Large programmes and the size of the firm means there can be lot's of diverse work on offer. If you like to work away from home and travel to the far flung parts of the UK, week after week, then Accenture might be for you.

Cons

A recognition structure that's biased against technical contributions. There are VERY few, if any, technical people in senior positions. At some point you will need to contribute sales and win work to be promoted. Non-technical people managing technical staff does not work. They inevitably vent their frustrations on the team whose careers suffer in turn. You wil not like everyone you work with. It can be very cliquey with those groups only ever promoting from within. And some people will do whatever it takes to get ahead of you.
