Pros

Great place to start your career, but career advancement into management positions is political. The people you tend to work with are very good and competent and you will learn a great deal at the firm. Usually the experience is valuable.

Cons

Promotions especially into Manager or Senior Manager roles are downright political. It digusts me to watch the great people not be promoted because of alliances. Again its a great start for your career, but usually salaries after time are below market and its becomes difficult at times to move up.

Pros

1) Gain a healthy understanding of the software development lifecycle from start to finish 2) Great reputation for IT delivery abilities 3) Global reputation 4) St. Charles, IL training facility. It really builds a strong culture since everyone around the global must travel to this location 5) Credible resume builder for future IT jobs

Cons

1) You can get pigeon holed in IT jobs 2) The business model encourages average to slightly below average pay for you position. You will make more if you leave the firm (and management will admit this). 3) Manager level tends to have the lowest pay to responsibility ratio. 4) The culture is work hard...not much work life balance (on average). There are always exceptions of course.

Pros

It is a great place to learn key skills that are applicable in almost all corporate environments. They provide great training and opportunity to advance.

Cons

The amount of travel can become tedious and frustrating. You are also one in a company of hundreds of thousands, which means you are almost invisible.
