Pros

Name recognition. The quality of employees is fairly high, mostly intelligent people. Some decent perks like dinners and lunches paid for by the company.

Cons

Terrible promotion process. The performance rating system is completely subjective. There is little visibility on how people are reviewed. You have a few people who either make or break your career. You may end up having a ridiculously unintelligent and incompetent supervisor who will destroy your chances for promotion, and there is little visibility on how he or she rates you. The rating system is completely determined by peoples subjective view of you, rather than your actual performance. If you find a manager or career counselor here then stay, otherwise you are set for a mediocre career at Accenture at best

Pros

Their PTO program is outstanding and definitely helps maintain a good work/life balance. Furthermore, it depends on the project that you're involved with but I had a very good experience with my project. The management was helpful whenever I needed anything and the work was challenging rather than being mundane busy work. Furthermore, since Accenture is such a global company, there is a lot of different choices for professional growth and there are a lot of people that will help you get where you want to be. The mandatory training can be a great way to network with fellow employees, although I personally didn't think the content was very useful.

Cons

As with the case with any company, you're bound to run into a couple of idiots when working for such a large company. However, it seemed that in Accenture, you have a higher chance or running into those who are very arrogant and think they are God's gift to the company. Also, the promotion process is almost like a lottery where you need to have a manager fighting for you in order to get promoted. A lot of times, due to this inefficient procedure, the new hire that goes out to happy hour with his manager seems to have a better chance of a promotion than those who do well but choose not to or cannot socialize with their managers (e.g. the manager is not a drinker or goes home after work each day, etc).

Pros

Accenture offers a great benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. You can also tailor your benefits with your spouse for greater flexibility. The savings and employee stock purchase plan are also an extra benefit. There are many friendly people who work at Accenture. If you are looking to work in a friendly work environment, or with people that want to get together for a drink consider applying here. Accenture is involved in the community and supports a lot of local charities, holding fund raisers throughout the year. This is one very positive aspect of working with Accenture.

Cons

Accenture really promotes work/life balance in theory but doesn't practice it. There have been a lot of budget cuts going on and all departments are under staffed and over worked. The time reporting system is a disaster, designed by Accenture, and it is frustrating everyone. Annual reviews seem biased by Manager favouritism. Salaries are stagnated as more and more work gets offshored. If you are looking to be rewarded for your performance don't expect this to occur with Accenture. Promotions and project work are given to the same people over and over, the situation with promotions and projects is very similar to the annual reviews.
