Pros

It's truly an honor to work for Allianz USA. Leadership cares about employees’ well-being and career growth. I've known several people who have advantage of the positive environment and leadership coaching to significantly improve their position and responsibility. It's gratifying to see the transformation in people in terms of increased confidence and ability to impact the organization in favorable ways. The company is continuing to grow, yet manage risk (it’s an insurance company), all while providing a stable and terrific place to work for associates. In turn, the associates take great care of customers. The customer testimonials are gratifying, making it all worthwhile. In fact, taking care of just one customer and getting them help when they need it most – while traveling away from home – helps everyone to better understand our company’s purpose. The company has a robust “voice of the customer” program, which provides customer feedback that management acts upon in terms of continual improvement. Lastly, the entrepreneurial attitude is delightful. While it's still a corporate environment that has its challenges, it moves faster than many companies in terms of implementing product and other innovations, TravelSmart app enhancements, other customer centricity efforts, associate engagement initiatives, local community involvement, and more. It runs much more like a small, entrepreneurial firm which makes it easier to feel like you're making a difference and a contribution. We receive industry recognition and awards on a regular basis which makes us all very proud. It's very possible this is the best company I've ever worked for or with. And I've worked for some terrific organizations.

Cons

Every company, especially one with a global parent (AWP is headquartered in Paris and Allianz Group in Munich), has management challenges of some kind. That's to be expected as no company is perfect. The leadership does what they can whenever they can to get support from Headquarters and to promote all our efforts both within and outside the organization. Some of the technology needs to be updated (both software and hardware) - likely one of the most common barriers to productivity and cause of organizational drag. It's improving but not anywhere near as fast as the employees want.
