Pros

Good, long term vision that seems to be paying off.

Cons

It's very easy to work day in, day out without much reward and get burnt out. There is low morale in several groups, and in my particular group it was fear rather than interest that was driving people so hard. The company's frugality also begins to wear on everyone after a while.

Pros

Good compensation package, millions of customers, some very interesting technologies especially in the area of distributed computing, some interesting talks, AWS teams seem to be the best organized with the highest level of morale

Cons

High-stress oncall rotations, dysfunctional engineering and project management, mediocre development environments with little testing, not invented here sydrome, lots of cowboy programmers, immature organizational structure
