Pros

the only pro is you gain experience as a manager if you don't have it previously

Cons

you are not compensated for the work, you will do L4, L5 work without any benefits other than food, you get beat by college hires for promotions, you direct manager will receive bonuses for your hard work

Cons

Day to day operation could be stressful if you do not get sufficient training required in your section or support from leadership.
