Pros

This company pays good money, having them on your resume opens so many doors. Lots of opportunity for later moves if you decide to change teams.

Cons

You are just a number to them. High salary allows for lack of compassion by leadership. They pride themselves on candidates being "flexible and adaptable" but really that's because they lack structure or defined processes as a company.

Pros

You get to work with the best talents around you. SDEs/SDMs are always willing to share information and help each other towards work goals. Operational process is transparent to all and hence there is less toxicity or biases. Leadership Principles are followed religiously and therefore serve as guiding light. Work hard , deliver and you will grow otherwise it is not easy to sustain in the fast-paced environment.

Cons

it is not a 9-5 job (and your compensation sort of dictates that) and you are expected to deliver your best so be prepared to hustle and transform yourself into your better version. Otherwise, this is not your place. No-frills in terms of misc benefits such as free swags/lunches/events as Amazon practices frugality in its operations (one of the Leadership Principles). So don't expect such pampering.

Pros

Amazon offers a high degree of freedom and independence to solve problems and get the assigned work done. As a result, it takes a lot of initiative and perseverance to handle it. Nobody is holding your hand! And that's a good thing. As a result, there's a lot of room to grow in a self-directed way.

Cons

The company is highly complex. With so many different teams it can be a challenge to figure out where to go for answers. That, and everyone is busy, so it can be hard to get answers quickly. However, people here are top-tier and generally very willing to help.
