Pros

Amazon provides a rare environment combining a true meritocracy with values-driven leadership. At the end of the day, decisions are driven based on data with customer value as the primary goal.

Cons

You need to manage your own time and availability to ensure you don't get overwhelmed. There is always a surfeit of big things to work on.

Pros

Big company and name Biggest (if not one of them) company in the world.

Cons

Expected to work 12-15 hours/day Some technical people have a very arrogant attitude Each group works as an individual mini company without coordination or communication with others. Lots of disorganization and wasted efficiencies "Day 1" culture enables improvisation, and it is commonly used as an excuse for below-bar work quality Benefits are below average for the tech industry.
