Pros

- Unlimited learning potential (you learn everyday on the job). - Growth opportunities. - Work with brilliant individuals. - Culture that fosters innovation & intrapreneurship.

Cons

- Fast paced nature can be overwhelming for some. - Individual accountability for one's work life balance is a must. - Due to high expectations, increasing demands, growing technology and customer focus it may be hard to communicate with peers and/or be communicated with.

Pros

Overall, the training and message you get during onboarding is pretty inclusive. But that's where it ends.

Cons

The leaders at Amazon don't understand leadership principles at all. They consistently and wholeheartedly twist whatever narrative they need to fit whatever leadership principle they want. I was told disagree and commit means disagreeing until the crowd makes a decision and then committing to that decision. . . Beyond that there's no escalation for a bad manager or process because the people you're supposed to escalate to are invested in making sure that manager or process is painted in favorable light more so than the company overall benefits.

Pros

Decent salary, smart people to work with, almost fully remote options, paid team offsites every 1 or 2 quarters

Cons

The projects in ProServe are crap... the customer either hires you as a dummy to do grunt work, or to do something crazy like solve all of humanity's problems. There's not much in between. ProServe, I realized, is just a stepping stone into SDE or SA positions, or the occasional manager. Don't stay here for more than 2 years, few people do anyway
