Pros

Good place to learn cloud practices and familiarise with AWS offerings. Can be a good career starter. There are rockstar developers you can learn from if you are lucky to work with them.

Cons

Processes are very slow, a lot of work related to ops. And oncalls can be extremely painful. Very easy to burnout. Slow career progression, very high level of competition for meaningful work that impacts promotion.

Pros

Excellent pay, opportunity for growth and promotion, challenging and complex problems, great work life balance, excellent managers, taking leave is never discouraged.

Cons

There is an on-call rotation with a pager, meaning that some weeks you'll need to be ready to work at odd hours, but the total number of hours worked per week were still very good.
