      Historic brand recognition with providing blood products/services; Loyalty of long-timers; Support of Headquarters; Committed volunteers

      Very few employees/managers do the work; handful of others that do the work do so with significant obstacles (lack of resources, turnover, no accountability of some senior managers, dysfunctional work behaviors; favoritism).

      Working with volunteers, helping provide the needed blood for the community.

      Cons

      Major re-structuring, bad financial decisions in higher management, no appreciation for collections staff, constant stress to know what you do every minute of every day, management style is very out dated in today's workplace.

      The services we provide (I am still a volunteer) are unique and much needed; the people who provide the services in the field are beyond a doubt some of the best I've ever met. We live and breathe the fundamental principles, and treated each other with respect

      Disconnect between national and the field is startling. National has no idea how their concentration on corporate identity is affecting the morale of the field. I fear for the future of the Red Cross if these corporate type people continue to have control.
