      Need to be young with no family to work the hours they want.

      Pros

      Meeting new generous people everyday who want to help save lives. Working somewhere different everyday. The pay is great. Knowing I'm helping to save lives.

      Cons

      Very physical and hard labor loading and unloading trucks for blood drives. Many tech end up with work related injuries. Horrible, horrible management. Always feel scrutinized and not appreciated. High turn over rated due to work conditions and bad management.

      Co-workers and volunteers, most of them are the best.

      Cons

      Upper Management. If you know your job, have experience and are the best fit for an open position. You will NOT get the job, it will go to someone without experience, that knows someone. Buddy-Buddy system.

      Pros

      1.Helping citizens in the community is the best part. 2. Networking opportunities galore. 3. Opportunity to travel on paid deployments and training. 4. Amazing volunteers (but a limited number)

      Cons

      1. No work/life balance. 2. Unreasonable work hours, DPM's on average work 55 hours a week. 3. No support from higher ups in the organization. 4. No room for growth. 5. During interviewing for a DPS, I saw upper management blatantly discriminate against someone with a disability.
