      The mission and history are amazing. The commitment of the volunteers just astounding.

      Cons

      National management is overbearing and recruited out of Corporate America. The heart of the organization is fading. It was appalling to understand how little of the chapter budgets made it to those in need or for the benefit of the volunteers. The overhead for the national structure is inefficient. Senior leaders making over $400k in salaries. Wow.

      The idea of the mission

      Cons

      The 3 departments that make up the blood services are extremely disconnected and do not get along. Management is more cut throat than I have ever seen, The turnover is constant due to the culture and unrealistic demands. STAY AWAY! Be a donor, appreciate the outside image. Internally its draining, your efforts are unappreciated and your stability which you would want to feel in a job, just isnt real. Everyone is just miserable. Its exhausting!

      Enjoyed the work but cronyism, racism and glass ceiling along with constant downsizing make it a tough place to work

      Good mission. Needs to explain how disaster money is used for each disaster so that the public has more confidence in donating.

      Cons

      Covert racism and downsizing constantly make this a tough place to work. Too many hidden agendas. Folks wish under the pressure of the next big downsizing of the organization
