Pros

ARC has a great mission and some truly dedicated staff and volunteers

Cons

The strategic review process is a joke - the leadership team's pet projects were kept while core services were reduced drastically or eliminated. The leadership team lied to senior management about budget projections and priorities, doing exactly as they pleased once they walked out of the high level budget meetings. This organization benefits from a great reputation and recognizable brand, but they are a joke. Can't wait to find a position with an org that actually fulfills its mission.

Pros

Job with a vital mission. Opportunity to work with a wide range of people; people who will inspire you both internally and externally.

Cons

Business decisions of the organization create conflict within the depts that need to work together. Recent changes don't serve the greater purpose of those who support it.

Pros

Great mission, great onboarding/training program. Decent benefits outside of pay.

Cons

Very low pay for hours expected. Extreme low morale. Management disaster! Extreme micromanagement by supervisor (to the point that it was said to me "you should write that on a larger piece of paper" when I was writing a reminder to MYSELF! And critiqued on how to keep my own personal calendar so "stay organized". My first week I was invited to a staff meeting with my peers from our area. It was very clear the lack of respect that was held for all management by my peers. Peers were openly admonished in front of the group, ideas were called "stupid", and upper management in attendance did not say a word to stop this behavior. One peer stated she felt a lack of respect and leadership and was scolded! After the meeting one peer was actually crying and several more were stating how horrible the management was. I have never worked in such a hostile environment in my life. I was fortunate that another job was offered to me during my first week there and I gladly jumped to take it and left without having to face one more day there. I can't believe how poorly the supervisor was allowed to treat staff with no recourse. After leaving, no one even called or emailed me to find out what happened!!
