Cons

The recent round of layoffs at this company has been deeply unsettling — not only for those who were let go, but for those who remain. Rather than being communicated clearly or handled with transparency, employees were abruptly contacted and let go, with little to no context provided. As emails started circulating about colleagues leaving, confusion and panic spread. There was no official word from management. No clarity. No reassurance. Just silence. In that silence, assumptions flourished. Rumors spread. And fear took root. Layoffs, unfortunately, have become more common across industries. But even in difficult times, there are best practices. There are human ways to handle these situations. The absence of communication from leadership and the lack of support for remaining staff only deepened the damage. There should have been meetings. There should have been preparation. There should have been basic respect. People deserved the chance to process, to ask questions, and to feel seen. Understandably, the initial shock and fear many employees felt are now turning into anger. Not only because of the layoffs, but because this event is just another example of a larger pattern: a culture that often treats employees with disregard, ambivalence, and disrespect. Despite this, the company continues to demand loyalty, while increasing workloads, tightening metric expectations, and creating a work environment that feels more pressured than supportive. People want to do meaningful work. They want to be part of a company that values them. But trust, once broken, is not easily repaired.
