Pros

- Wide exposure - Build up of discipline, resilience & knowledge due to exposure globally. - Forces you to be independent

Cons

- Bad work life balance: you may work 12 - 16 hours on a regular basis, they take every opportunity to squeeze every ounce in each employee. - Salary: It is one of the worst paid in the industry. - Progression: Not much progression in the company, you may find Executives & Directors doing the same job scope. Even at times the HOD may be required to do the same. Employees seem to leave company for a short period and come back just to acquire a higher position. - Unrealistic workload to headcount ratio: You are expected to handle workload of 2-3 headcount with hiring freeze due to cost-cutting measures and also additional task which is not within your job scope. - Processes: It is one of the company with the most redundant process which is not cost-time effective. - Disengaged Structure: Management knows of the issues faced by employees but not much solution is provided - Bad Retention: Company does not mind letting employees walk. There is no focus in trying to retain and nurture talent. They deem every employee easily replaceable. - Incapable Junior - Middle Management: Many Junior - Middle management position are awarded just for the sake of filling up the role. There is no review of the certain individual's capabilities before awarding them the position. - Unspoken Hierarchy: There is an abuse of position in the Junior - Middle Management level. Higher Management does not seem to condone the actions but rather let it run it's course.

Pros

Good exposure to global insurance companies, if that's what you're after Work-life balance is good in most teams

Cons

1. Pay is the worst (compared to other consultants) 2. Benefits are scant 3. Management is uninterested in your growth at best and actively hostile to it at worst 4. Management will lie through their teeth to you about the possibilities at the firm, from different clients you can work with to international mobility (generally available only for Americans, Australians and Europeans) - e.g. management threatened to withhold my promotion and then actually did so because I expressed a desire to work in other offices 5. The firm is legendarily incompetent at implementing in-house the advice it sells to clients (e.g. it might take you 3-4 weeks to go through an interview process for a job in another country but the global mobility team will take anywhere between 6 months and 2 years to actually get you to the other country AND THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH GOVERNMENT DELAYS) 6. They sell themselves as a data-driven organisation but don't have useful data, don't have ideas on how to collect useful data, cannot properly collate any data they do collect, actively oppose moving that data or making it usable and have lots of useless discussions about how to digitise paper records 7. Aon United is largely a sham - if you are bringing in lots of revenue, you are at perfect liberty to be hostile and uncooperative towards people outside your division while senior executives will convene meetings complete with PowerPoint slides that offer no practical recommendations on how to implement collaboration and are largely useless (like the advice they give clients)

Pros

Interesting Exposure. Extraordinary executives. Lack of black representation amongst brokers. Overall good experience but the lack of career pathing made it hard to invest in a future.

Cons

Political. Pay is under market standard. Poor Training.
