Pros

Good benefits and lots of exposure

Cons

Mean boss always abuses people in front of everyone in the office loud. Makes you come to office even on Saturdays and Sundays. Client is first that means no personal life and no weekends. 3 people in my team went on sabbatical just in 6 months because of work pressure and burnout.

Pros

I had one of the best teams I have ever had the pleasure to work with. Flexible working Firm and leadership really want to do the right things for their people Great office location

Cons

Very long workdays and you have to fight for time to be with family and kids during the week. The business is focussed on its core services and it really doesn’t understand why other business areas need to be run differently. In my case, I worked in a strongly data led business which really hindered the growth of genuine advisory teams and led to some really strange discussions with more senior leadership. There does not seem to be a long term plan or shared goal for the business and there is a real short term focus in place. There is a strong sense of favouritism in the business and this leads to some very strange promotion decisions resulting in some very good people getting frustrated and leaving. Finance is very strong as a function (part of the short term focus) and they have too strong a hold over decision making

Pros

They have really good health and dental benefits

Cons

Leadership doesn’t care that you have to work long hours (evening and weekends) to meet deadlines. Managers play favourites and if they don’t like you, have the ability to block you from moving up.
