1. Hierarchy system and only knowing this by word of mouth. Internal Apple system is difficult to maneuver, without knowing titles, levels, job titles, etc.
2. Outdated tools and systems used. Nothing is documented or scalable, everything is used on Quip or Numbers doc.
3. Difficult for changes to be implemented, out of the box ideas, creativity is not praised. High level of approval chains needed and buy-in.
4. Tenure is a BIG deal here. Long tenure required to be promoted. Also, it is a people/ cult driven community. You need people to like you and your manager, if you have any issues or concerns, you can be retaliated against (not just myself but I have seen others experience this and get displaced to a new team without solving the root cause problem).
