Pros

Benefits. There is job security, especially around this time.

Cons

I would never recommend someone to work for the customer support of Apple. The micromanaging is relentless and they don't pay enough money for this job- maybe in other depertments. It's abusively exhausting trying to keep up with those metrics. The management is really bad. They say everything to make you feel special as an indivdual person, but they'll do everything to make you believe that you're just a number. This is a very stressful job, no matter what level you are or which language. It's shameful. They could be hiring more people and not drive everyone crazy, but they just won't do.

Pros

The benefits are quite good, you get nice discounts to buy some Apple products and you get an iPod Touch for free to use (you have to return it if you leave the company tho). The campus in Hollyhill, Cork is pretty cool, and the food is also nice

Cons

If you're hired as a Technical advisor, you're gonna have it really hard to leave AppleCare. During the interview process, I was told that after a year I could apply to a job outside AppleCare (I wanted to work in the marketing department or video production), but after 8 months, I had a meeting with my current manager and he told me that if I was hired to work in AppleCare I had to stay in AppleCare. He clearly was cutting down all my chances to change department, since to apply for another job I first need my manager approval. I was extremely disappointed so I decided to quit. The work hours are extremely long. You technically have a 15 minutes break every 2h, but sometimes a call takes more than 2h and then you can't take the break. Also, if your launch break is after 2.30pm, and you didn't bring food with you, you won't eat anything because the dinning hall on campus is closed, which I find unacceptable since they know people have launch breaks after 3pm or even 5pm. You need to go to get your food during an early break (if you're not in the middle of a call) and get your food, but by the time you are on your launch break, the food is completely cold.
