Tough but Transforming

Pros

Top Leaders are making tough choices that I believe are long overdue. Passionate people devoted to clients and to leaving the world a better place. Recent focus on "Transformation" introduced by COO Joachim Ebert makes a lot of sense and is getting good leadership and employee support, but not sure people realize that there is a long road ahead to get there.

Cons

Morale of employees is low as a result of struggles in competitive market for growth and a changing work strategy and environment. Seems to be upturning, but then something happens and it drops again. I'm hopeful for a longer term view and steady climb in future under Ebert's leadership.

Pros

Good start for a junior as you might get exposure to some interesting job. Good work / life balance, not too much asked from employee, can do 9-5 if you want.

Cons

Loads of monkey jobs, emphasize on utilisation (i.e. need to demonstrate why spend 2 hours on a job) and keep on hiring new junior staff... No real vision as this is a big beast which acquire whatever it can... Obvously this depends on the team you are in but across the board it seems that many people feel the same. Many people (even very well placed in the hierarchy) have left following acquisitions as the vision turns into lower end of the consulting sprectrum type of jobs. People are treated like another fish in the ocean.

Pros

Typical consulting company with many offices. If you are lucky you may have growth opportunities. Benefits are generally good.

Cons

Continual company reorganizations and constant acquisitions to achieve "organic growth" objectives. Very high turnover rates and constant threat of layoffs. New CEO and COO are hired headhunters that arbitrarily layoff staff with no knowledge of their capabilities, no notification or discussion with their supervisors, no idea of connections with clients or project involvement. Very poor business decisions. Continual loss of experienced staff.
