Pros

They try very hard to make the work environment fun, inclusive and an all around great place to work. A lot of great work perks

Cons

The boys club runs that place. Woman are scarce up top. They are VERY fond of titles and the ladder and do not want you to mingle with those lower than you. They look down on you due to your associations and are quick to judge and mistreat you the higher you go. SO MUCH POLITICS!1 A lot of old school thinking at the top.

Pros

Ascension IS was a great place to work for my first 4 years. I got to work for an organization that seemed to believe it its mission, vision and values, including its employees.

Cons

Leadership changed and from there the mission, vision and values were thrown away, not by words, but by actions. Apparently the organization became so large that there were no checks and balances between system leadership and the individual oligarchs that run the different divisions. As long as you had a nice suit, you could do whatever you want.

Pros

Benefits-Okay Coworkers are dependable A few good managers who actually care left Opportunities to work from home The chance to really help those in need and make a difference

Cons

Understaffed- (clinical/non-clinical)- most associates are doing the job of 2-3 with no additional compensation, incentives, or overtime and are still expected to perform at their full potential. No exceptions. Constant policy changes with no true results of actual success, it just makes the work even harder to complete because the associates who actually do the work are not considered when the new policies are rolled out No growth-Very hard to move up unless you know the manager hiring personally or some one in high ranking. Compensation-raises are a joke, if you get one. All of your hard earned money goes to the upper management; you only get a crumb.
