Freedom/flexibility to pursue interests, great and enthusiastic people from diverse backgrounds, exposure to entrepreneurs and their work in various sectors

Cons

Poor and inefficient management, no clear career path for employees, little opportunity for formalized skill and/or professional development, lots of overlap in work, no streamlined form of communication, insufficient salary

Pros

The work environment is totally unique: innovation is rewarded and as an individual employee you can really make an impact on the organization and build your skill set. The people there are whip-smart, care deeply about social issues, and are collaborative. It is easy to build internal partnerships and launch new ideas.

Cons

There are a few niches within the organization in which you can become pigeon-holed and in effect be in a dead-end. As well, the salaries are very low.
