Pros

Awesome teams, lovely day to day culture, expertise available to work with and high commitment to quality work for clients, integrity of delivery methods.

Cons

Disconnected leadership, lack of management involvement in decision-making, poor communication - redundancies managed without discussion on impact on client work, projects, pipeline and growth strategy, no warning given - creates constant anxiety and uncertainty beyond what is necessary in current economic environment. They additionally change other conditions such as extending the forced leave period at Christmas to three weeks instead of two, which has a significant impact on all staff, particularly families juggling school holidays and other commitments, but also others who may have already used that leave on another planned event. Staff then have to either take unpaid leave or buy leave due to these holidays being unplanned which has a big knock on impact on family budgets. The business floods employees with positive messaging around health and wellbeing, opportunities to connect, socialise, do yoga, learn Te Reo, meditate and so on, then undermines this by massively disrespecting the basics that are the foundation of wellbeing - a level of security that you will know in advance if changes are being made to your role and unit, and having a level of control over time to spend with your family. It's been hugely disappointing and undermined trust and confidence in the organisation for all who have been part of it this year.

Pros

We had a great team that was made redundant yesterday.

Cons

Aurecon has made redundant 8 project accountants across New Zealand. We came to the office in the morning and at 2pm everyone was dismissed. We were promised redeployment in course of restructuring, promising business partners roles at the end. These roles were fake just to keep us for training Manila team. Poor management that has no idea what happens on the ground. Poor IT system, IT support team makes some changes just to show that they are doing something but not improving systems, they are just making things worse. Top managers do not care about their people and just play with lives. They appointed people from other country, who never saw us before and didn't work with us to send us redundancy letters. Our team leader avoided talking to us for the last 3 weeks and didn't even say goodbye at the end. Think twice if you get an offer from Aurecon. You can become unemployed overnight. Wonder why it is not in news. New Zealand Aurecon got rid of more than 200 people in this year. I checked termination reports from the beginning of the year.
