Pros

Got several promotion over 7 years. They hired a lot of peoples from big four recently. This is probably why the branding of BDO completely have changed overtime.

Cons

Focus is not on clients anymore but only on profit margin. They said to me that I am meeting too often the clients... They fired me (like my boss) suddenly without any notice and did not give any explanation to me. Don't go there: when your salary is too high, they will replace you with someone with a lower one... again and again.

Pros

Vancouver BDO offers a fast pace work environment with a focus on learning and mentoring. BDO has a low ratio of managers and partners to staff allowing one on one teaching and mentorship. BDO is expanding allowing for growth opportunities within the firm.

Cons

Work life balance during Feb to May is poor however it is made up for during the summer and fall which are slower. BDO also offers programs which allow you to take off additional in the slower seasons.
